🌟 Community Partner Spotlight: Arkansas Game & Fish Commission 🌟 We are thankful to partner with the AGFC through their Conservation Leadership Program! Guided by their vision of ensuring healthy fish and wildlife populations, abundant outdoor opportunities, and a lasting conservation legacy for future generations, the AGFC provides our students with valuable outdoor learning experiences and equips our staff with tools to deepen their conservation knowledge. 🎃 Pumpkin Decorating Contest at STEAMFEST! 🎃 We’re excited to announce a Pumpkin Decorating Contest as part of our STEAMFEST celebrations! • Enter with your family, friends, or even as a whole class—everyone is welcome to participate! • Pumpkins are due by Wednesday, October 22nd. • Please note: No carving—decorating and painting only. 🗳️ Voting will take place during STEAMFEST on Thursday, October 23rd! Each vote costs just 1 cent—drop in a penny, a dollar, or lots of dollars! 💡 All proceeds will benefit our STEAM Sustainability Fund, helping us continue to provide students with valuable hands-on learning opportunities. 🌟 Community Partner Spotlight: AR Department of Agriculture – Forestry Division 🌟 We are excited to partner with the Arkansas Department of Agriculture: Forestry Division! 🌲🌳 Their team works to conserve and protect Arkansas’s forests while teaching communities about the importance of trees, fire prevention, and environmental stewardship. 🍂🌎 The Forestry Division will be joining us at our Fall Carnival STEAMFEST with an interactive booth full of hands-on learning and fun! 🌟 We are thankful for their partnership in helping our Wildcats grow as environmental stewards! #SpringdaleFamily

🍽️🎉 Thank you to all the families who joined us for Roar Family Night at Walker Elementary! Thanks to our 21CCLC Grant, our Wildcats enjoyed a fun evening of activities, learning, and community—complete with dinner together. We loved seeing our students and their families engaged, connecting, and celebrating all the amazing things happening at Walker.

ROAR is a fantastic program funded by the 21CCLC grant that provides free after school education that focuses on Reading, Art and Culture, STEAM, Math, Gross Motor and Wellness skills, and Working Memory skills. ROAR also provides a free snack and dinner.

Our program is partnered with the University of Arkansas to allow Spanish speaking students to attend a class with UofA Spanish students to help retain and enhance their native language.

🎉 STEAMFEST is Almost Here! 🎉 We are so excited about our upcoming STEAMFEST on Thursday, October 23rd from 5:30–7:30 PM! To make this event even sweeter, we need your help collecting bags of candy. 🍬 ✨ As a thank-you, every student who donates a bag of candy will receive a special ticket to attend a dance party during the school day! 🌟 Community Partner Spotlight: Apple Seeds 🌟 For over 15 years, Apple Seeds has been dedicated to educating and engaging children in the wonders of healthy food. 🥦🍎 Their mission is twofold: ✨ Increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables ✨ Empower young minds with the knowledge and skills to embrace a healthy lifestyle Through their innovative programs, Apple Seeds creates a positive environment where kids can explore and discover the world of nutritious foods. 💜 We are so excited to announce that Apple Seeds will be leading an interactive family cooking activity at our Fall Carnival STEAMFEST on Thursday, October 23rd from 5:30-7:30PM.👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 We are also thankful to continue our school-wide partnership with Apple Seeds into another great school year! 🌟 #SpringdaleFamily

🌟 This morning, our Wildcats were inspired by former Walker Wildcat, Mackenzie Scott, during a special assembly! Mackenzie was crowned 2025 America's Ideal Miss on July 26, 2025, in Arkansas. 🏆

Current Walker students enjoyed seeing pictures of Miss Scott from her time as a Walker Wildcat and hearing her story. As America's Ideal Miss, Mackenzie leads with integrity, inspires with kindness, and serves with purpose. 💙❤️

🌟 Community Partner Spotlight! 🌟 Today we kick off our Community Partner Spotlights as we count down to Walker’s Fall Carnival STEAMFEST — just ONE month away! 🎉 Our first highlight is MarShae’s Sweet Escape! 🍨✨ We are thrilled to share that they are bringing their nitrogen ice cream experience to our event! 🎟️ We have 150 tickets available, and students can earn priority registration for a ticket by receiving a PAW-sitive Office Referral. A huge thank you to Ms. Kimberly Hosey from the Shiloh Museum for bringing discovery boxes filled with artifacts of geology, fossils, and historical toys & games! Our 2nd graders had a blast and will continue exploring these treasures over the next couple of weeks✨ We’re thrilled the Shiloh Museum will also join us at STEAMFEST on Thursday, October 23rd, so our whole community can experience these amazing discovery boxes! #SpringdaleFamily

A special thank you to Suzanne Murphy from the Illinois River Watershed Partnership for engaging Mrs. Cebuhar’s 5th graders with an enviroscape today! 🌎💧 Students investigated different types of pollutants and made meaningful connections to the ways human actions impact our environment. They also began brainstorming ideas for a collaborative project where they will use science ideas to protect Earth's resources and environment. 🌱✨ #SpringdaleFamily
