Will your child be riding a bus to school? Springdale Public Schools has implemented a new bus routing system and parent portal to better communicate with our families and to further improve student safety. The link to the portal was shared with you by our transportation department. If your child will be riding the bus this year, please go into the portal and register your child.

We had a great first day of kindergarten jumpstart and are looking forward to the rest of our kindergartners being on campus tomorrow for day two!

Hello Kindergarten Families,
We are looking forward to seeing you on Monday or Tuesday for Kindergarten Jump Start. We will begin at 9:00 am in the cafeteria, where we'll have a brief 15-minute parent orientation. Students will begin at 9:00 and will finish at 2:00 pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided for all students.
If you haven't already submitted all of your child's registration documents, please make sure to bring them to the orientation. This will help ensure a smooth start for everyone.

The first day of school is coming soon on Monday, August 14th! If you have a student who will be five years old on or before August 1st, you need to enroll them now. You can register your child by visiting registration.sdale.org.

Today is Monday. Are you looking for something for your Wildcat to do today? Science Action Club (a seven-week program geared for students in grades 3-5) will begin at 9:00 and Feed your Brain will begin at 10:00 today at Walker. A parent or guardian must attend with their children. Both programs will continue to be at Walker every Monday from June 19th through July 31st. Lunch is provided in the Walker cafeteria, so why not bring your Wildcats and grab lunch while you are there?
This amazing group of Walker teachers along with our assistant principal spent three days learning at the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work Institute with Mike Mattos and other authors and educators from Solution Tree. Our team is always learning and excited to bring back new strategies and tools to ensure our Wildcats learn at high levels.
One Community will be at Walker on Mondays starting tomorrow, June 19th. Science Action Club (a seven-week program geared for students in grades 3-5) will begin at 9:00 and Feed your Brain (A seven-week bilingual Summer Reading Program for the whole family. A parent or guardian must attend with their children) will begin at 10:30 Both programs will on Mondays from June 19th through July 31st.
Head to Walker and get some shaved ice from Fitz's Snoballs! They will be at the school from 5:30-7:30 pm, and 10% of your purchase comes back to the school!
We are excited to partner with One Community again this summer. They have a variety of summer programs and Walker will be one of the locations to attend. The Walker dates are June 19- July 31 from 9:00 am-11:30 am. Science Action Club will start at 9:00 and Feed your Brain will start at 10:30. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria at 11:30.
We hope to see our Wildcats come and enjoy these programs this summer.
The 2023 One Community summer programs include:
Feed Your Brain, Alimenta Tu Cerebro-Bilingual Summer Reading program for the whole family! (Parson Hills, Walker, Jones Center, and OneCommunity’s Casita de Libros).
Spanish Literacy for Heritage Speakers-Adults and Teens-Native speakers of Spanish will enhance their reading, writing, and communication in Spanish. (OneCommunity)
Science Action Club-3rd-6th graders will learn to become citizen scientists while observing and identifying birds. (Parson Hills and Walker)
Girl Scouts Troop 5113-this is a new bilingual troop that includes girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade. (OneCommunity)
We are partnering with Crystal Bridges as they host a Bilingual 55+ Art Class on Tuesdays. (Jones Center)
Tonight is the night for our first Summer Spirit Night. Fitz’s Snoballs will be set up in the Walker Elementary parking lot with more than 40 fun flavors to choose from. 10% of all sales go back to Walker. Come out from 5:30-7:30 pm and support Walker PTA. Feel free to hang out on the playground and/or track while you enjoy your snowball. Please make sure to throw away all trash so we can keep our school clean.
