Students cooked a delicious veggie skillet and even took home ingredient packs so they can recreate the meal with their families. 🌿 #ARinNOV8STEM Outdoor STEM Exploration Challenge: 2025 🌿 November 8 is National STEM Day, and we’re excited to share our school’s official challenge entry! 🎉 Our 1st graders took their curiosity outdoors this week during a visit to Apple Seeds in Fayetteville, AR. 🌱 Big news, Wildcats! We’re thrilled to launch our school-wide composting initiative — starting at mealtime! 🥕🍎🍞 All students will help reduce food waste and support our school garden by turning their leftovers into fresh, nutrient-rich soil each day. 🌻 Our Wildcats identified this need and took action to make a difference! As part of our Changemaker Initiative, classes are engaging in a Composting Challenge — and the winning class will take home the coveted Golden Worm Award! 🪱🏆 #SpringdaleFamily

🔺🔵🟢 Kindergarten Shape Hunt! Mrs. Maize’s class had an exciting adventure exploring shapes all around our school! Students searched for circles, squares, triangles, and more — discovering that shapes are everywhere in our world. This hands-on activity helps build early geometry and observation skills through play and exploration. #SpringdaleFamily

☀️ Our 5th graders have been busy exploring the power of the Sun! Students designed and tested their own sundials to observe how shadows change throughout the day — a hands-on way to connect Earth’s rotation and the passage of time. #SpringdaleFamily

Our 1st graders have been exploring how light and sound waves help us understand the world around us! 🌟 Last week they learned that X-rays are powerful light waves doctors use to see inside our bodies. Mrs. Struebing’s class loved building skeletons with Q-tips and studying X-rays on the light tables! 💀🐾 #SpringdaleFamily

Exciting news! Our Wildcats got a special visit from the Springdale Fire Department today. Students have been asked to create their own home fire escape plans with their families. One student who submits a plan by November 10 will get to ride to school in a fire truck! Check the newsletter for all the details!

Tomorrow, October 31st: Families have two fun opportunities to join in the excitement with your child!
✨ Opportunity 1: Book Character Costume Parade – 8:05 AM
Cheer on your student and others as they parade around in their favorite book character costumes!
🔬 Opportunity 2: STEAM Day Activities
Families are invited to participate alongside their child during their scheduled 40 minute STEAM session.
STEAM Schedule (Track Area):
4th Grade: 8:30–9:10
1st Grade: 9:10–9:50
2nd Grade: 9:50–10:30
5th Grade: 10:30–11:10
Kindergarten: 11:15–11:55
3rd Grade: 1:20–2:00
Parking & Check-In: Please park in the north (back) parking lot and check in with a staff member in a neon vest on the track before joining your child.
Remember to bring your ID — all adults must be listed on the approved check-out list to participate.

During recess tomorrow, your student can purchase Kona Ice. Prices range from $ 4 - 7 dollars.

Friday, October 31st, is the last day to pick up your decorated pumpkins from Steamfest.

There will be no Cross Country this week. We will not be having practice on Tuesday or the race on Wednesday due to rain. The final Mini Wild Dog Race will be postponed, and we’ll share the new date as soon as it’s scheduled.
