What better reason to eat out than to help support Walker Elementary PTA? Tonight is our Slim Chickens Fundraiser Night. Pick up some yummy chicken for the whole family and 15% of the proceeds will be donated to Walker! For your order to benefit Walker Elementary PTA, you must order at the restaurant and mention the fundraiser at the register. Online sales will not count toward the fundraiser and other discounts are not allowed. The event runs tonight from 4 - 9 pm at the Springdale Slim Chickens.

The cost is $25 and can be paid by sending cash or check to the school or thru Venmo (@WalkerPTA-Wildcat). Please specify that it’s a dedication and the student name and teacher.

We are excited to open our doors and welcome our Wildcats back to learning, socializing, and having some fun together in-person at Walker Elementary. This week has been a challenging week on many fronts but there has also been a lot of good! Let’s give a shout out to the over 150 custodial and maintenance staff who worked around the clock to keep our buildings in top shape!They worked on frozen pipes, clearing parking lots and sidewalks, plowed snow and maintained the HVAC units. Let’s give a shout out to the Principals and teachers from each building who worked to connect with each family ensuring safety and educational enrichment during this time. We had some fun this week! We loved seeing all the pictures of how families combined education with snow time fun. Tomorrow, Friday February 19 will be a remote teaching and learning day. Let’s finish this week strong, with positive energy and take the time to say thank you and encouraging words to each other. This is what make our community great! Esta semana ha sido una semana desafiante en muchos frentes, ¡pero también ha sido muy bueno! ¡Demos un saludo a los más de 150 conserjes y personal de mantenimiento que trabajaron las veinticuatro horas del día para mantener nuestros edificios en óptimas condiciones! Trabajaron en tuberías congeladas, despejaron estacionamientos y aceras, quitaron nieve y mantuvieron las unidades de HVAC. Demos un saludo a los directores y maestros de cada edificio que trabajaron para conectarse con cada familia para garantizar la seguridad y el enriquecimiento educativo durante este tiempo. ¡Nos divertimos un poco esta semana! Due to inclement weather the Springdale Schools will have a remote teaching and learning day on Monday February 15th unless life safety issues arise in our district such as power outages. The weather forecast is showing the possibility of snow next week that could cause us to have to go remote. We sent home iPads (k-2) and Chromebooks (2-5) today. These devices will need to come back to school on whatever days next week we have instruction at the school building. Please make sure all computers are fully charged when returning to school because we use these throughout the school day. In the event of a remote work day, all assignments will be posted on SeeSaw (k-1) or Google Classroom (3-5). Reminder: PTA Auction is tonight from 7:00-9:00pm on our PTA Facebook Page. Here are the directions... Starting at 7pm, you may start bidding on packages. Some packages will have starting bids, those will be specified in the description . Also, in the description will be the dollar increments needed to raise a bid (most will be in either $1 or $5 increments). The last bid at 8:59pm on each package will win the package. After the winner is announced on each package, you will have 24 hours to email or message through Facebook, if no contact is made, we will move on to the next person. Have fun and happy bidding!
