We can't wait to see our new kindergarten students join our Walker family next school year! Do you need to register your child for kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year? To register your child, go to www.sdale.org and click on ENROLL NOW or you can come to Walker for a face to face enrollment opportunity on Monday, April 12th from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Our office team will be ready to assist you to ensure your child is completely registered. Please bring the following documents: 1. A birth certificate; a statement by the local registrar or a county recorder certifying your child’s date of birth; an attested baptismal certificate; a passport; an affidavit of the date and place of birth by the child’s parent or guardian; previous school records, or; United States military identification 2. Social security number, if available. 3. Immunization records. Your child must be up to date with all of their kindergarten shots before August 2021. 4. Kindergarten physical; if you do not have your kindergarten physical it must be completed before August 2021. 5. Proof of address Masks will be required. Please share this message if you have a friend or neighbor who needs to enroll a child in kindergarten at Walker for the 2021-22 school year. Hello Walker Wildcats, Southwest Junior High will be hosting a Lady Cougs Camp on dates April 10, April 24, May 8, and May 24 from 10-11:30pm at Southwest Junior High. Physicals are NOT required for this camp and it is FREE to attend! Please be sure to bring your own basketball, face coverings, and a water bottle to this event. Walker Families, Ozark Guidance, Arisa Health is hosting a virtual parent night on Tuesday, March 9th from 6:00-7:00pm on Positive Parenting Strategies. English and Spanish sessions will be happening simultaneously, but separately These sessions are sponsored by Promoting Positive Emotions - a crisis counseling support program free to Arkansans. All registrants will receive a link to the recording of the live presentation and handouts.

Next week, (March 1st-5th), is Read Across America Week! We will have special dress up days each day of the week. Monday, March 1st - Oh The Places You Will Go - Dress up like a Superhero Tuesday, March 2nd- Green Eggs & Ham - Wear Green Wednesday, March 3rd - The Cat and the Hat - Hat Day - wear a hat! Thursday, March 4th - Horton Hatches an Egg - Dress up like an animal Friday, March 5th - The Foot Book - Wear Pajamas & Crazy Socks We can't wait to see all of our wildcats dressing up next week!

What better reason to eat out than to help support Walker Elementary PTA? Tonight is our Slim Chickens Fundraiser Night. Pick up some yummy chicken for the whole family and 15% of the proceeds will be donated to Walker! For your order to benefit Walker Elementary PTA, you must order at the restaurant and mention the fundraiser at the register. Online sales will not count toward the fundraiser and other discounts are not allowed. The event runs tonight from 4 - 9 pm at the Springdale Slim Chickens.

Walker Elementary NEHS food pantry received a generous donation from Freedom Fellowship. We appreciate Freedom Fellowship for helping us fill our food pantry today! #THEChoice

5th grade Parents! Wednesday, February 24th, is the last day to get in yearbook dedications for your 5th graders! You can send text/photo to walkerwildcatsyearbook@gmail.com. The cost is $25 and can be paid by sending cash or check to the school or thru Venmo (@WalkerPTA-Wildcat). Please specify that it’s a dedication and the student name and teacher.

Hello Walker Families, We will resume in-person classes tomorrow, Monday, February 22, 2021. We are excited to open our doors and welcome our Wildcats back to learning, socializing, and having some fun together in-person at Walker Elementary.
